Non-Canon shippings are pairings of characters that did not occur and were not at least strongly hinted at in the books. These shippings were created by fans who think that they might have possibly occurred.
Tom x Tom and Shecat x Shecat shippings are basically always non-canon because the authors did not make them occur. The closest these came to happening were in close friendships.
